The painting is inspired by Latvian writer’s Anna Sakse book ‘Flowers and fairy-tales’. The Book is a collection of philosophical stories of fortunate and tragic fates written through funny and lyrical tales.
Each flower representing a unique individual, with their own story, desires, and struggles, mirror the diversity of emotions and circumstances. The idea that everyone and everything, including flowers, is on a search suggests a deeper theme of exploration, longing, and discovery. It suggests that every living being, no matter how simple or complex, seeks something in their existence. This idea allows the viewers to reflect on their own journeys, aspirations, and quests in life. Furthermore, the presence of fantasy and horror from the original book, introduces an intriguing layer of mystery and depth to the artwork with intention to spark the viewers imagination and lead them to delve into the hidden realms of their minds as they gaze upon the painting.
It encourages empathy, and the appreciation of life’s complexities while leaving room for personal interpretation and creation of unique fairytales by each observer.
